More than 11,000 children ranging from low-income families in Blackburn and Darwen could now get free fruit and vegetables as part of a good living drive.

Until now parents will get vouchers for milk and newborn’s formula free of charge under the long-running Welfare Food Scheme.

But those who will qualify for the scheme could now get fresh fruit and vegetables.
