Elementary students load up on fruits, vegetables

Some Campbell County elementary schools are taking part in the 2007 Kids 5-A-Day Challenge held between March 12 and April 30.

During the challenge, students are asked to keep path of the number of servings of fruits and vegetables they consume each day for a week. Those students who productively consume at least five servings per day are qualified for prizes. Schools and classrooms are also qualified for prizes based on the number of students effectively completing the challenge.

Many schools as well offer samples of fruits and vegetables to children during the Challenge, and support parents to serve additional fruits and vegetables at home during the week.
