Cranberries Granola-bars Fruit Recipe

Cranberries are a good source of vitamins C, manganese, fiber and vitamin K and consuming 1 cup of cranberries can give you 50 grams of proteins and 50 calories which is needed after a healthy workout. These fruits are available in peak season between October and December and they can be stored in refrigerators for about three weeks. Dried cranberries can be stored on the shelf for sometimes for a quick snack to fill our stomach. While purchasing choose the once which are bright and bouncy and avoid the mushy ones.

You can find commercial Granola bars in all most all the shops but they have limited natural ingredients and you will be paying a good amount of money which they are not worth for. Homemade cranberries granola bars are very nutritious and they do not contain any chemicals or additives. Below you can find the ingredients needed to prepare this wonderful delicious recipe followed by instructions.

Ingredients

CRANBERRIESS

  • 2 cups of Rolled oats
  • ¼ cup raw sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • ¼ cup of wheat germ
  • ½ cup of sliced almonds
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ cup of natural peanut butter
  • ¾ cup of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of flax oil
  • 3 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • Mini chocolate chips(optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a ceramic or glass9 X13 inch baking dish.
  1. Mix sunflower seeds, cranberries, wheat germ, almonds and oats together in a bowl and spread it on a pan sheet and toast it in the preheated oven for 8 minutes. Return mixture to the large bowl.
  1. Combine salt, peanut butter, honey, flax oil and brown sugar in a medium saucepan.
  1. Bring to a boil over moderate heat and immediately remove it from heat. Pour over oats mixture and combine until dry ingredients are evenly coated.
  1. If you are using chocolate stir the mixture with it and pour into the baking dish and press mixture down into pan.
  1. Bake it for 20 minutes and allow it to cool for 2 hours and then cut and serve.

This recipe may take a little time when compared to other recipes but it is really worth making it. Children love to have this as their snack after playing a tiring football match. Just try once and taste for yourself the delicious granola bars.
